Our History

The Harvard-Radcliffe Veritones were founded in 1985 by a small group of passionate undergraduates including Lee L. Eichen '89, Inger C. Dewey '89, and Academy Award Winner Mira Sorvino.

Over the years, the Veritones have accumulated a great number of alumni songs, including "Takin' It To the Streets", "Landslide", and Mood Indigo.

We have competed at ICCA since 2015, winning 1st place in 2023 and placing at our 2017 and 2020 Quarterfinals.

Awards & Accolades

In 2016, The Veritones were the only Harvard A Cappella group to advance to the ICCA Semifinals, sweeping awards for Best Soloist (Mallika Rangan), Best Choreography (Hunter Merryman) and Best Vocal Percussion (Suproteem Sarkar). In 2023, we won awards for outstanding arrangement (Bari Tuka, Jaiden Edelman, and Matt Naddaff) and vocal percussion (CJ Nkenchor).

Our group has received consistent recognition from the organizations Voices Only and Varsity Vocals. Our music has been featured on the 2020 Best of Collegiate A Cappella (BOCA) album ("Say It First", soloed by Christian Savarese and arranged by Matt Naddaff and Stacy Jo).

We have also had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with groups like Oxford University’s Out of the Blue and Northeastern University’s Nor’Easters, and have shared our music with audiences from New York to San Francisco while on tour.

In 2017, we released two singles: Bad Blood (opb. NAO), which was part of our award-winning set in the 2016 ICCA; and Gemini Feed (opb. Banks), which received critical acclaim from the Recorded A Cappella Review Board (RARB). Most recently, Gemini Feed received a perfect score of 5.0 from the RARB!

As the world’s first collegiate a cappella music video in virtual reality, our music video Gemini Feed pushed the limits for what contemporary a cappella can be, winning Runner Up for Best Mixed Collegiate Video in the Contemporary A Cappella Society’s 2018 A Cappella Video Awards!
